Minecraft: Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Get An Update

The Team Mojang YouTube channel released a two-minute trailer showing off the many new updates in both Pocket Edition and Windows 10. In this article, we will discuss the updates given to our beloved platform of #Minecraft.

Redstone and More!

Mojang

Redstone is a large part of #Minecraft as a whole and is a very large game changer when implemented into the game. In the newest update, Redstone Circuits, Redstone Wire, Redstone Torches, Redstone Lamps, Levers, Buttons, Pressure Plates, Tripwires, Trapped Chests, and Detector Rails have been added! Implementing these items into the game will bring new creations for new purposes. Redstone can be used for the improvement of gameplay (for farms, for example), or for neat things like lights. Redstone is also able to control TNT, Doors (and Trapdoors), as well as Rails. Let’s hope that more Redstone features are added in the near future!

On top of Redstone being implemented into the game, we officially have our wonderful, hopping, counterparts added. Bunnies have been brought into our Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Edition of #Minecraft. Bunnies will eat Carrot crops that are matured. Instead of breaking the crops, the Carrot crops growth stage will reduce.

Cross-Play has also been implemented into the new Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Edition Beta versions of #Minecraft. Cross-Play allows users to interact with one another through both versions of the game, essentially in the same way that you would play with somebody on the same device. If a person is playing the Windows 10 Edition Beta of #Minecraft on a computer and another is playing #Minecraft: Pocket Edition, both players can begin a server and play alongside each other using Cross-Play.

Desert Temples have also been added to the game. Go out and find a Desert Temple and reap the rewards for a great surplus of items. When heading down into the Desert Temples, however, be wary of pressure plates! On a lesser note, the various types of Wooden Doors have been added to the game. These items will make your world look great and are wonderful for decoration.

Tweaks to the Game

Many things have been changed about the game in this newest update. The following changes have been deemed noticeable. The speed of boats have been increased and have improved handling. Item tooltip visibility time in Windows 10 Edition Beta has been increased. Slimes and Ghasts will now spawn. When eating, the Hunger restored will now match the PC version of the game. Flowers created using Bone Meal will officially depend on the biome the Flowers are created in. Obsidian blocks break 3.5 seconds slower. Block lag has been reduced immensely, allowing for a more responsive feel to the game. Wolves will now chase off any Skeletons.

Many bug fixes have also been added to the game, says Owen on the Mojang.comwebsite, but does not have them listed as he believes they are “too boring to go into” the list. The following bug fixes are what listed, however. Mobs will no longer suffocate in carpets. Held items look better in first-person mode.
